We are a dynamizing element of the cultural life of our town. We take an active part in the animation of the Bunyola festivities: Ballad of the patronal festivities of Sant Mateu, Santa Catalina fair and festival, Tribute to La Vellesa, Feast of Our Lady of the Snows and collaboration with the Parish and other organizations and cultural associations from Bunyolina.

exchanges

By means of exchanges with groups from all over the world we promote that, both we, as a group and all the people of the town get to know other cultures and folklores. In this way we become hosts and communication vehicles for both cultures.

It's Quarteró

Our research work led us to be able to recover an old festival that took place in Bunyola's possessions, once the olive had been harvested at the end of January. This is how "Es Quarteró" was born, an updated and popular festival that we organize every year in a different possession of the Bunyola area in memory of the day of celebration that the Bunyola olive harvesters had when they finished the harvest season each year possession The name comes from the "quart" of wine (16 litres) that the majoral brought to the party, the traditional food (because there was nothing else) were herrings and sweet potatoes. This party takes place in a different possession every year and has been institutionalized on the last Sunday of January.

Memorial "Andreu Estarellas Pascual"

From 1994 to 2009, we organized the Andreu Estarellas Pascual Memorial, a youth research and research competition for popular traditions. The call was annual with a different theme each year. In 2010, the Memorial is not called. The Dance School decided to take a break to study the evolution of the competition and its future. All the winning works have been published in booklet format with the following titles: I Memorial "Traditions of Olive Cultivation" ( 1995).II Memorial "The World of Sheep" (1996).III Memorial "The Pantry" (1997).IV Memorial "Menestral Trades" (1998).V Memorial "Games and Toys" (1999).VI Memorial " The cultivation of grain" (2000).VII Memorial "The school in Bunyola in the 20th century" (2001).VIII Memorial "Ranch: the world of coal" (2002).IX Memorial "The dance, the music and the traditional clothing in Bunyola" (2003). X Memorial "The kitchen in times of hunger" (2004). XI Memorial "How the donuts and bunyolines came and went" (2005). XII Memorial "From birth to death" ( Ceremonial parties of the person) (2006). XIII Memorial "Home remedies and other herbs" (2007). XIV Memorial (2008). XV Memorial "Cyclic Parties" (2009).

The Exhibition

In the years that we convened the Andreu Estarellas Pascual Memorial, we also organized activities related to the theme of the Memorial. Every year, since 1995, we held an exhibition related to the theme of the Memorial. To highlight the exhibition of 2007 for the production of the video "El Rebost" with Sa Nostra as sponsor and the one of 2001 for the production of a video, with the collaboration of Joan Carles Muntaner, related to the world of coal in Bunyola, which was projected at the announcement of the prizes of the VIII memorial and during the entire time that the exhibition was open.

The party

The meeting takes place at a possession and closing of the Quarter, with prize giving, lunch and party. The recovery of the Festa del Quarteró began in the possession of Barcelona (1995). From this year we have organized the party every year in a different possession in the Bunyola area, in S'Estremera Nova (1996), Son Palouet (1997), in Biniatzar (1998), in S'Alqueria Blanca (1999) , in Son Térmens (2000), in Honor (2001), in Son Vivot Vell (2002) and in Son Terrassa d'Orient (2003), in Es Rafalot (2004), in Sa Font Seca (2005), in Coma-sema (2006), to Son Pisà (2007), to Es Pujol (2008), to Alfàbia (2009), to Raixa (2010), and as an exceptional thing these years we went again to Raixa (2011), to Son Amar ( 2012), in Son Termnes (2013). In 2014 we took a break to rethink the party, and it wasn't until the following year that we continued in Biniforani Nou (2016), in Raixa (2017), in S'Estremera Nova (2018), in Cas Capallers ( 2019), in Son Palou-Orient (2020). In the years 2021 and 2022 of the COVID-19 there was no Quarter due to the restrictions of the pandemic.

In 2023 we have resumed the organization of the Raixa Possession Party.

EXTERIOR PROJECTION

Another of our tasks is to spread the dances, music and clothing of Mallorcan popular culture outside of Mallorca by participating in demonstrations and cultural exchanges with other groups from different countries and cultures. Co-founders and members of the Mallorcan Music and Dance Federation , as part of its objectives we participate in national and international festivals, congresses, popular culture days and cultural exchanges with other groups and entities.
